Events Data Not Saved
April 23, 2011, 12:47:28 pm
We have only recently started to look at the events module. Quite often when we are setting up an event, we click save we are returned to the Drupal home page and the data that has be imput is lost. Sometimes if we reinput it is saved the next time, but not always. The fees page seem most likely to crash on us. I see that only one or two other have had this problem so I guess its something specific to us but I'd appreciate a clue as to where to look. (there are no errors on the apache error log for instance) Thanks

is events the only form that is affected? or are there any other forms that have the same behavior

also make sure that all your urls are of the form

example.com

OR

www.example.com

not a combination of the two :)

Thanks for the reply... We've not seen this problem on the other modules we have used so far (mainly CiviMember/Contribute) - and as far as I'm can see the urls are consistent across CiviCRM. We've very recently upgraded to 3.4 and that hasn't helped (though it did fix a problem we had where we couldn't customize the navigation menu)

Hi,

_might_ be an access right issue? Can you create with the admin (user 1) user without problem or it doesn't work either with the super admin ?

I did wonder about that... so using user 1 I can set up and event and if I use SAVE & DONE after the location information page it appears that I can go in and add fees info. If I use SAVE and go immediately to the fees page, entering the minimum amount of imformation, then press SAVE I'm bounced out to the Drupal Home Page. I've tried this several times this evening and got similar results

Can anyone suggest where to look next please? Even with my workaround of "save and done" after the first two tabs, I don't seem to able to get past the 4th tab

Regards

Problem persists when CiviCRM upgraded to 4.0,.1. With a bit more looking I found this in apache's access_log at exactly the right time;

is it relevant? helpful? Sorry to be a bit useless here but this is all a bit new as until now we used a custom Access/SQL app.

Thanks in anticipation

Just in case anybody has a similar problem, it looks like the root of the problem is that our Drupal installation was done into a sub-directory (for example www.site.com/d6) but that the htaccess file had not been updated to reflect this (the RewriteBase option was still commented out). Everything else in Civi appeared to work normally regardless...
