civicrm-4.0.0 only for Joomla 1.6?

Hi.. I'm using Joomla 1.5.23

At the moment I don't want to upgrade to 1.6.
I would like to know of "civicrm-4.0.0-joomla.zip" is for Joomla 1.6 only.

Yes. You should use CiviCRM v3.4
