Author Topic: Merge duplicate contacts with different contribute records (Read 980 times)

There is a duplicate record I wish to merge. However, the primary and duplicate records both contain contribute items that are different (one has a membership at $50, another has a contribution at $30). Both are valid and need to be kept. Is there some way to merge the duplicate records and combine both contribute records into the merged contact without having to re-enter one of the other contributions into the new merged document?

The merge panel lets you choose which data from the duplicate contact you want to carry across during the merge (including contributions). Just check the box for contributions when merging and you'll have both contributions attached to the remaining contact.

Start from Contacts menu -> Find and Merge Duplicate Contacts

Thanks for the reply.

I had tried that and didn't get the contacts merged properly. Let me see if it was user error by experimenting with fake contacts. I'll let you know.
