IE6 and 7 hanging at user registeration

Hi,

I just made some access changes of civicrm module on my site for authenicated user and now when i goto user registration page of drupal which is using some of civicrm profiles the browser is hanging both in IE6 and IE7. Firefox seems to be working fine. You can also try it. Goto http://www.thinkindia.co.uk/den/user/register and have a look.

The current access for anonymous users in civicrm module are:
1. access all custom data
2. access uploaded files

I faced this hanging problem many times while i am accessing civicrm module pages but they are rare. may once in an hour or two, if you are continously using civicrm module pages, but now i cannt access the register page at all using IE6 and 7.

I am using drupal 5.1 and civicrm v1.7 9379 build. The problem was not there when i was using v1.5

You might experiment with eliminating the County/State element on this form - it was thousands of options and makes the page quite heavy - it also contains lots of HTML illegal characters (based on the W3C validator - http://validator.w3.org/). I would be surprised if this was related to authentication.

Hi dave,

Thanks for the help. I now included states listing of only UK and India in the drop down menu (which are more targeted countries for our business) and now things are back to normal. Although i dont understand why this happened as this is the way it was earlier. I just made small changes in configuration of civicrm module accessibility through drupal access control panel and this started happening. Anyway it brought me a sigh of relief.

Regarding the HTML validation mostly the error it is mentioning why <br> is not closed e.g. </br> which is not a big issue i guess and would not have hangged IE.

Anyway thanks again,
