Dashboard 404 Errors
May 02, 2011, 05:33:59 am
I'm a CiviCRM newb and just installed it last week.  Most of the system appears to be function but the main dashboard dashlets are all broken.  I've tried the default activities report as well as a few others I've enabled.  All dashlet titles are show but instead of a report each displays

404: file not found

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Hi. Firstly, let me note that the Requirements listed on the About CiviCRM page: http://civicrm.org/aboutcivicrm do note "MySQL 5.1.x+ with InnoDB support" and you don't have that. I don't think that is the what is causing this issue.

It sounds to me like there may be a URL mixup and the way to debug would be to use Firebug and try to check the URL which CiviCRM is trying to load for the content of those dashlets.

Thanks!  I'll take a look using firebug. Regarding the MySQL version,  there might be a bug in the install guide then as

confluence/display/CRMDOC40/Drupal+Installation+Guide+for+CiviCRM+4.0

states

MySQL 5.0.x or higher with INNODB support : CiviCRM is compatible with the current generally available MySQL release. Note that MySQL 5.1 is recommended for new installations as CiviCRM is beginning to use Triggers more (eg to support multi-lingual installations), which require SUPER privileges in MySQL 5.0 but not MySQL 5.1. SUPER privileges are still required in MySQL 5.1 if binary logging is enabled.

Not a big deal to upgrade though, I just had a 5.0 instance already running so used it.

I know it's been months but I just got around to upgrading mysql, drupal, and civicrm to latest versions and this problem persists.  Any suggestions on how to see what URL it's trying to use with dashlets as they all return 404s as stated above.

Thanks

It sounds to me like there may be a URL mixup and the way to debug would be to use Firebug for Firefox and look in the Net tab for the URL which CiviCRM is trying to load for the content of those dashlets.
