Problem testing with Authorize.net
May 02, 2011, 03:38:37 pm
Okay I set up the Authorize.net login ID and transaction key.

I'm in test mode in CiviCRM as well as in Authorize.net.

To my knowledge, I've entered the information correctly.

But I got the following error when taking the contribution form for a test drive:

  Payment Processor Error message
: 2:13 (TESTMODE) The merchant login ID or password is invalid or the account is inactive.

I took Authorize.net out of test mode and tried again with the same error.

Help please!

ETA:

I am using an SSL connection...I have the settings in CiviCRM modified to recognize SSL...

That is definitely an auth.net error. Try doing a Google search on that error and see if you get any helpful input (or contact their tech support).

This is what they're saying:

Quote
Click on this link. Then type in the number 13 and click submit. That will provide the details on the error you have and how to correct it. http://developer.authorize.net/tools/responsereasoncode/

This error deals with the posting your using to send the transactions to for processing.

I'm not seeing what's wrong though.  The link that they're saying it needs to post to is what's already in the system:

https://secure.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll

So the answer was to get out of test mode on both sides.  :)

Can you check the current instructions on the wiki for configuring Authorize.net and update / add tips as needed? Thx!
