Changing owner creates a new case ?
May 08, 2011, 09:27:13 am
Hi,

Not sure I understand what is supposed to be going on when changing the owner of a case:

It creates a new case and re-assign all the activities to this new case.

If keeps the "original" case, but doesn't change this status  (and doesn't keep any activity on it.

Is this expected ? Is there an option to keep the existing case and "simply" change the owner ?

Do you mean when you assign the case to another client?

Or, are you changing the owner through some sort of action? With clarification I can try it out and see what I happens with my installs.

Thanks.

Hi Xavier,

I am using D7/Civi 4.0 and when I assign a case to another client it does just that, reassigns the case. The original case owner is no longer associated with the case and there is no original blank case. Everything gets moved to the new case owner.

So, for me, it keeps the existing case and does simply change the owner.
