v2.0 alpha 11971:12672 - feedback - Settings - Date Preferences
January 14, 2008, 04:12:27 am
Looking at Settings - Home › CiviCRM › Administer CiviCRM › Global Settings › Settings - Date Preferences

Shows configuration for the following dates: birth, creditCard, custom, datetime, duration, fixed, mailing, manual, relative

While some of these refer to obvious dates it is not immediately clear which dates deal with the Join, Start and End date for CiviMember. This was filed as an improvement for 1.7 CRM-1480. I believe the code to implement this was from CRM-2090. So...

Q1  Are CiviMember dates included in this functionality

Q2 Would it be usefull to have some description of what the Date Classes refer to?

We've modified the civicrm_preferences_date table to include a description for each type - and we've modified the list of date types to explicitly / more clearly cover CiviMember dates under the "activityDate" type. You can see the current options on the sandbox:

http://sandbox.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/setting/preferences/date?reset=1

... or if you're running 2.0 locally, update via svn and run setup.sh to rebuild the DAO's and reload fixed data etc.

Where's this gone??

I can still get to it via administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/admin/setting/preferences/date&reset=1

but can't see it linked from anywhere in global config.

We figured this was an "advanced user only" function - so the link is from the Global Settings >> Date Settings form:
» Advanced Date Input Settings

(i.e. from administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/admin/setting/date&reset=1 in Joomla installs)
