In D6, you could add a contact reference to a content type that allowed an unlimited number of references with CCK. In D7, there is no option for the number of reference it the field settings. Unless I'm missing something, to add 5 contacts to a node I'd need to add 5 fields. Since D7 supports multiple references in every other field (including the Body and Title), this seems wrong.

Am I missing the option or is there a problem with the Drupal 7 support for fields?

This has not yet been implemented. Someone on IRC mentioned that they'd look at it and submit a patch (maybe petednz?). not yet got that patch, but if u can take a look and submit a patch to include that functionality from D7 that would be awesome
