Page Not Found error on contact import
May 16, 2011, 05:44:54 pm
Hi all,

When I attempt to import contacts, I get a Page Not Found error. The URL in the browser bar is ~/civicrm/import/contact

I've tried using both chrome, ie and firefox. I've used both Excel and Open office to save the .csv file, and it's UTF-8. I can get to the field mapping section, and the site is correctly reading the first 2 rows of data. I've tried importing about 10 contacts, and also about 1,300. Edit -- I just tried using a SQL query, no dice.  All with the same result.

I've had a similar error when setting up a petition in CiviCampaign, but otherwise CiviCRM seems to work fine.

Any suggestions?

You could try to disable CiviCRM and then renable to make sure the menus are all correct. Or flush all caches.

Also you could try to reproduce this error on the CiviCRM demo: http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/ and that may help narrow down the issue.

Thanks!

Tried those things, but no luck. I *was* able to import the contacts to the demo site, so the problem seems to be my install (?). I tried disabling all the extra modules I could, but that didnt' work.

I noticed I'm running MySQL 5.0.92. CiviCRM 3.4 wants MySQL 5.1.x. So I'm either going to upgrade MySQL or use an earlier version of CiviCRM and see if that takes care of the problem.
