Total amount missing from PDF receipts

We're finding that on completion of a contribution the receipt PDF contains a blank value for the total amount despite the correct amount showing in the email receipt to which the PDF is attached. I did a quick Google search for this, but have been unable to find anything on this issue. Could anyone shed light on this and offer any suggestions on how this can be fixed.

We're not experiencing the same problem with event reciepts which look to be working fine.

if i had to guess this might be a dompdf issue. We pretty much send the exact same html that we include in the email to the dompdf library

If you have the skills, might want to write a small test to make sure that is the case and then ask for help on the dompdf forums
