Events in Drupal calendar no longer link to event registration
May 21, 2011, 06:34:28 am
I use the Webform module in Drupal and received a security notice to update it a couple days ago.  While doing so, a message appeared in the "modules" page stating that "Date" module now requires the "jquery ui" module and that it must be installed, so I did just that.

Now, the calendar I use to display all my civievent links is broken.  I am seeing the following:

  • The 'background' color for each event has changed from something greenish to blue.  Not a big deal, but a change I did not initiate.
  • When I click on a link, a new page would open with event info & a button to register for the event.  Now a small pop-up box opens...
  • ...and for events with id numbers that match Drupal node which exist, the info shown in the pop-up box is whatever is displayed in the Drupal node.
  • For all events with ids that don't correspond to an existing Drupal node, the pop-up window is blank.  At no point does an actual new window open (as it had done in the past), and there is no way to get to a registration page / link.

My first thought was to disable the jquery ui module as that certainly seemed to be the culprit, but to no avail.  No changes were seen either before or after clearing the Drupal cache.

Next I tried to modify the "view" that displays the calendar - again, no luck no matter what I changed.  I even tried to re-create the view from scratch, but I continue to only get Drupal nodes in pop-up windows.  Nothing I do changes this new, broken behavior.

I am not a programmer or developer, I have no idea what to do next.  Please help.  This calendar is our automated scheduler (members sign up for volunteer hours, required for their continued membership) and it is crucial functionality for our site.  Any / all help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Nevermind...  See here:

Turns out I was looking at the wrong thing - jquery ui is not the problem, but rather "calendar popup"...  It had been enabled since I first set up the site, but javascript wasn't.  Since the calendar popup module hadn't been touched, I didn't think to look at it during the hours of troubleshooting.

It would be nice to have "calendar popup" enabled, but it looks like this is a long-term, ongoing issue...
