Using profile completion notifications with CiviContribute
May 23, 2011, 07:00:01 pm
Using Civi 3.4.1 I am employing the ability to send email notifications when a profile is submitted in order to issue a notification whenever the contribution page is submitted. This used to work perfectly, but with 3.4.1 - I've just upgraded - the email notifications are not getting sent. The CiviCRM installation is sending other emails successfully.

Are there specific configurations of Contribution pages where these notifications are not sent? Any one else seeing this behaviour? Is there a simpler, or more reliable method of getting people notified when a contribution page gets submitted?

Thanks
Graham

Judging by the lack of response on this post so far, is it an issue that is not affecting others? From my perspective this looks to be a bug, on the basis that if a profile is configured to send a notification when submitted, it should do this regardless of the context in which that profile is being submitted (in this case the profile is being used as part of a membership contribution page).

If contexts change the behaviour of the profile, then that should be made explicit on screen at the time when the profile is deployed.

How do I log this as a bug report?

Best wishes
Graham

I did a quick check of the code and did not see this behavior in the contribution code (i might be wrong and it does exist)

Yes, you can argue that this is a bug or a missing feature. If this is important to you please investigate and if not implemented, submit a patch that does the needful. This does come up periodically and would be good to get it fixed
