Unusually high number of bounces - causes?
May 25, 2011, 05:14:18 am
Hi

We have been using the CiviSMTP service very successfully for almost a month and have sent several mass emails with an average of 98% successful delivery rate. However, when I tried to send out an email yesterday, the report is showing a bounce rate of 94.6%. The email is being sent to the exact same group of people. When I go into the bounce report, the reason given for the majority of bounces is 'not connected'.

Could anyone shed any light on what this means?

Thanks!

shane

Hi,

the service is functioning normally.

have you changed anything about your setup recently? passwords, crons, anything at all?

also in many cases this means that the outgoing mail on port 20095 has been blocked by your host.  do you think this might be happening?
