Incomplete transactions with Google Checkout
May 29, 2011, 07:55:33 pm
We have had quite a few problems with people who wanted to pay with Google Checkout but had various problems (browser crashes, mistakenly closing windows, or having problems while creating accounts). Once this fails, I have found no way for the user to get back to correct this registration issue (either trying with GC again or switching to Pay at the Door depending on the cause). Is there something I am missing that would make this possible? The only approach I have found is to delete the registration and allow the person to re-register. The biggest problem that causes is that it also deletes the payment record with its transaction number meaning that if google eventually returns a cancellation notice it cannot be saved.

Some status (maybe cancelled to re-register) might be useful or some other approach to solve this problem would be welcome.

Thanks in advance.
