Install not completing

CiviCRM on Drupal 6

I can see evidence of tables being created in the new MySQL database.
In Drupal, CiviCRM options show up in the modules list for activation.

But the installation screen never advances beyond this:

"Installing CiviCRM...
I am now running through the installation steps (this should take a few minutes)
If you receive a fatal error, refresh this page to continue the installation
Building database schema and setup files..."

And no matter how often I change the permissions on the Default folder, it never writes the civicrm.settings.php file and the permissions keep reverting to no write.

Any suggestions?

You set write permissions to /sites/default?

What is the last table in the list of tables in the CiviCRM DB?

The most important datum however would be the error message Apache is throwing--can you obtain that?

Yes. Write.

From cPanel error log:

Thank you for responding.

You have all of the tables created then.

The error:

Code: [Select]
client denied by server configuration: /home/pasquali/public_html
is not clear to me. I would suggest you ask your host if they can assist you with this because it appears to be a server error. The above doesn't appear to be the exact error, but I'm not 100% sure.
