Server Migration
June 01, 2011, 02:21:19 pm
I'm currently testing a migration of my test site to a new server.

One interesting thing that has happened is when I click on activities to view the activities of a contact, on the new server it is giving a mysql permissions error as it tries to create a temporary table.
When I regression test this on the old server it works fine.
The mysql permissions are identical on both servers - neither db user has permissions to create a temporary table.  It looks as though the installations are using slightly different techniques to build the page.

Now obviously I could just grant the permission on the new server, but I'm keen to understand is there something in the default mysql settings I need to check on the server or any other reason for this apparent difference?

Old server is on 5.0.22-log
New server is on 5.1.41-3ubuntu2.10

Cheers!
