Weird behaviour - drupal user profile ignoring contact fields
June 05, 2011, 04:21:03 am
Fairly new to Civicrm, experienced with drupal. Suspect this is a BUG but value input before I put it in as an issue. Following problem I have just duplicated on the demo system at drupal.demo.civicrm.org so I dont think this my installation.

OK to cause the problem:
a) Create or edit an existing contact in civicrm that is also a drupal user
b) Record MULTIPLE phone numbers in the contact primary phone fields eg primary-main, primary-fax, primary mobile
c) Flick over to the Profile in civicrm and make sure it is enabled for use for drupal registration / view-edit drupal user account
d) Add the secondary and tertiary phone number fields to the profile.
e) After saving go to that users profile page on the drupal system /user/x and the content of the profile will be shown

HANG ON!

All FIELDS from the profile are shown, but only the CONTENT for the FIRST entry is visible. If you enter new phone numbers into the otehr blank fields then these DO get passed into the Civicrm system (they are visible when you lok at the contacts entry in Civicrm, but they are NOT RENDERED in the drupal user page).

I dont know the Civicrm code but it looks like the FIELD name is being passed through to Drupal but not its VALUE somewhere in the innards of the module.

If others agree and its not my newbyish understanding oc Civi am happy for this to go into the issue tracker if our kind moderator thinks this appropriate.

In the interim as I am trying to get this to work on a production web site - Any ideas?

I think this might be an existing open issue, but i could not find the issue number.

If you are a developer, would be great if you can investigate and figure out what the problem is and propose a fix. We can help u get started on IRC
