is there any way to send a notification e-mail reminder about future Activities?
June 08, 2011, 02:07:53 am
If I create an Activity (eg a Meeting) with a future date, is there any way to get CiviCRM to send a notication email to the assignee(s)/attendeees of the Activity?
I have searched the documentation and this forum and found nothing relevant.

Or, is this something that I would need to use the API for, eg to integrate it with my own calendaring/e-mail system (eg Outlook)?   ???

Thanks
Mark

It doesn't exist yet.

It would be a nice addition. Using the API you might either generate a ical and put it on your calendar OR write a bin script that goes through the activities the api has fetched and mail/jabber/whatever.

I'd go that road and do a cli version, with a param the duration of the time window you want to notify (eg all meetings between now and now+param)

then run it from the cron.

Ping me on IRC if you want to give it a go and implement it.

@Lobo

That sounds good.  8)
At the risk of asking a silly question, what's the timeframe for 3.4.3?
