Paypal Pro Recurring Payments Error (auto renew membership)
June 08, 2011, 07:29:23 pm
When trying to complete a new membership with the new "auto renew" set and  the paypal express is chosen as the checkout method this error is given:

Payment Processor Error message: 11502:Invalid Token The token is invalid

It does work if "auto renew" is not chosen.

I cannot figure this out.  Any help much appreciated.

Drupal 6.22
Civicrm 3.4.2

Thanks!

Paypal Express does not support auto renew functionality.

This is a similar issue to paypal express not supporting adding an additional contribution to a membership purchase.

It would be great if the paypal express button was hidden if either of these options were chosen.  I might be willing to pay someone to make that happen....

and perhaps noting that paypal express doesn't work in this documentation might be a good idea - http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/PayPal+Website+Payments+Pro+and+Express+Configuration
THanks

so an added explanation is that paypal pro was the payment method used on this contribution page.. which displays the paypal express button.

yes, we should suppress that button for auto-renew / separate membership if PPro is the payment processor. Would be great if you can take a look / hire a developer (http://civicrm.org/professional) to do the same. I suspect with testing etc, its a 2-4 hour project

I'd be interested in trying this project.  One of my clients wants it too.
Try CiviTeacher: the online video tutorial CiviCRM learning library.

Sorry to revive an old thread..
Can anyone confirm if this is the current behaviour when using Paypal Pro. ?
We're seeing the exact same error when trying to  create recurring payments using Paypal from a Paypal Pro contribution page eg

Payment Processor Error message: 11502:Invalid Token The token is invalid

For now we're hiding the Paypal express button if auto renew is selected but presumably Paypal recurring payments should work in theory at least?

Thanks

Just wanted to let everyone know that this is still a problem under 4.12.
