"Save and Edit" button in Quick Add block -- can it be done?
June 09, 2011, 10:42:45 am
Hi everyone,

I often find myself wanting to get a contact record started by using the Quick Add block (for example, during a phone call someone starts telling me their e-mail address, and I need to jot it down quickly without taking the time to load the full New Contact form, which involves at least two clicks and a page load). But I also want to enter additional information about the person, so 90% of the time I click the “Edit” button on the newly created record, then save it again. It's a bit cumbersome.

I would love to have a button on the Quick Add form that saves any info gathered on that form and takes you straight to the full Contact Edit form.

Has anyone done work on this kind of feature? Should I submit it as a feature request? Any ideas on easy ways to do this?

Thanks,
Noah
