Civimail User Check : it appears that the proxy URL that you gave is invalid
June 14, 2011, 04:07:07 pm
Hi,

Configuring my CiviSMTP settings and getting the below response

CiviSMTP Account Settings
Civimail User Check : it appears that the proxy URL that you gave is invalid
SMTP Authorization Check : SMTP Authorization Succeeded! This proves that the SMTP server is up and that the SMTP Authorization is working with the SMTP username and SMTP password you have entered.
Email Domain Check : No MX records found for newsletter.amecareers.org
SMTP Account settings updated for AME CiviMail

MX records are in proc of propagating, but the below has me scratching my head

"Civimail User Check : it appears that the proxy URL that you gave is invalid"

I have entered: http://www.amecareers.org/sites/all/modules/civicrm/extern/soap.php

bluehost shared
Drupal   6.22
php 5.2.17
CiviCRM 3.4.0

If I hit the soap.php file directly via above url, I get the below

"Warning: require_once(api/v3/Mailer.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home2/amecaree/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm/api/api.php on line 191

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'api/v3/Mailer.php' (include_path='.:/home2/amecaree/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm:/home2/amecaree/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm/packages:.:/usr/lib64/php:/usr/lib/php') in /home2/amecaree/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm/api/api.php on line 191"

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

this means that you do not have all of the required libraries installed on you.  specifically, it appears that

api/v3/Mailer.php

is not available on your system.   it either needs to be installed or the include_paths need to be modified so the lib is found.

hope that helps!

peace.

Thanks Shane,

I thought the same thing, and confirmed. And when I look in /sites/all/modules/civicrm/api/v3 ? confirmed mailer.php library is missing. But.... there is also a V2 folder (on same dir). In it contains the needed mailer.php file. As an experiment, I copied over to v3 and now, no errors are getting thrown (though now when I hit soap.php directly I get a white page). then I re-ran the CiviSMTP account settings and got all green (nice), but it doesn't indicate that it is going work (given my v2=> v3 file copy).  I decided to try and send a test email via Civi  Global Settings > Outbound Email (SMTP Sendmail). And now I get

"Failed to connect to civismtp.uas.coop:20095 [SMTP: Failed to connect socket: Connection timed out (code: -1, response: )]"

thoughts?

you might need to make sure that your hosting provider will allow outgoing connections on port 20095

Nice one. Bluehost.com shared server accounts require a dedicated account IP to open port 20095.

Hopefully that will resolve issue
