3.4 to 4.x compatibility? path?

Using Drupal... would like to use Civi 4x on D7, but it looks like some modules (notably the CiviCRM to UberCart helper modules) aren't available for a D7 deployment yet.  If we use Civi 3.4 in a D6 deployment now, will the CiviCRM database nicely port to a CiviCRM 4.x/D7 environment? That is, will a move from 3.4 to 4.x require significant effort on the CiviCRM side? (yes, it takes a lot of effort on the Drupal side). It looks as if the 3.4 and 4x versions are compatible, but this is obviously a significant factor to consider!

The upgrade path from 3.4 to 4.1 is smooth - we've done it. But Ubercart is not going to be a D7 module. There is a difference commerce module in D7 - can't remember the name

There are other ecommerce options for Drupal 7, but Ubercart is not going away. The D7 version is in beta today:

Regarding the helper modules, it does not seem likely at this point that they will be ported to D7 unless someone decides to sponsor that. But I could be wrong.

Thanks to both.  That's the info I need.

And yes... I have the beta of Ubercart installed alongside CiviCRM 4.02.  Maybe in a few months my Civi KungFu will be strong enough to adopt those helper modules.
