Statistics Entry
June 17, 2011, 05:25:46 am
Hello,

Our bicycle club keeps totals for miles ridden and points earned for participation for members.  I don't know if this is something I could set up in CiviCRM.  Is there a way to create some kind of form and add these statistics for members with running totals?  Can someone point me to the project and or documentation that covers this if available?

I'll take a crack at this one...

Tracking miles could be done by creating a custom field.  If the rides are organized events, then each ride could be an "Event" and everyone who attended the ride could be credited for the miles.  I'm not sure how easy it would be to generate a report with the sum of miles for each rider....

Alternately, could each mile be the equivalent of a dollar (or some currency...) and then track these as contributions? Everything you need for entry and reporting is already there, you just have to define riding a mile as a contribution to the club!
