CiviCRM suitable for Community Radio in Guatemala?
June 18, 2011, 06:52:50 am
Hi folks

I've been asked to setup a donor and volunteer database for the community radio station in Todos Santos Cuchumatán. They have about a dozen  people working at the station and a few thousand donors. They also hope to expand to another 80 communities in the department of Huehuetenango.

I don't have any experience with CiviCRM. I've installed it on a hosting site where I have an account and it certainly seems to be capable of doing what has been requested and more. What worries me is that it may be to too complex, as most of the users have only a few years of schooling and would be working in their second language -at least until we get the system translated into Mam. However, the idea is to train a core set of people in each community. Are there any training materials or documentation currently available in Spanish?

Or, what would a better alternative be for this project?

I am not sure about training material in Spanish, I assume you have noticed the flossmanual http://en.flossmanuals.net/CiviCRM/ and seen that there is a Packt CiviCRM book?
