What would be involved in supporting ACH (This is sometimes called EFT) payments initiated by the donor on a CiviContribute page?   I looked at the JIRA issue at: http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-4138

Could that feature be used as a starting point? How can that feature be enabled?

My goal is for people to make a donation(or recurring payment) using their checking account instead of a credit/debit card.  Or that staff could set it up for someone using the back-office area of CiviCRM.

Here are payment processors supporting ACH that I am aware of. Please add to this list if there are more. This is an attempt to get the information in one place.
