CiviMember Membership Summary

Having issues with the CiviMember Membership Summary report at the top of the CiviMember Dashboard page.  The past months new memberships are not reflecting on the report. We have two types of memberships: Annual (Fixed from Jan - Dec) and Lifetime.  Some are being reported and others are not.  When I run an actual Membership Summary report (ID: 9), all looks fine.  Is there something I'm missing?
