Chase Paymentech Payment Processor Development
June 20, 2011, 01:20:25 pm
Hi There,

We'd like some bids on the cost of developing a payment processor for full (2-way) compatibility between CiviCRM and ChasePaymentech.

Here are there API's: download.chasepaymentech.com

Of course, the completed payment processor would be submitted for community use.

Cheers!

Just an FYI I am working on developing a Payment Module for the current releases of CiviCRM and Drupal 6 & 7 for Chase Payment Tech, my expected deadline is later on this month.

While I plan on releasing this to the Community, once its done a "tip" would be appreciated I will have donate links once the module has been posted

Hi - the situation is that I have working code that I can share although there are some limitations. I haven't put the time into dressing it up because when I explain to people what is involved in getting Chase working & the possible alternatives the issue always seems to go away.

Authorize.net or moneris both seem to support Chase merchant accounts & Johnny (above) went with one of them. I haven't had feedback from other people I said this to but I believe that's what they did.

To use Chase directly you need to understand that Chase expect to deal with software companies delivering a service to customers. I felt it helpful to think of myself as a purveyor of EFTPOS terminals :-) You have to go through a certification process and are given a key which is confidential to you. So, it's not possible to certify 'CiviCRM' - only your installation of it.

You also need to sign an agreement. The primary problem with the contract is that whoever signs it is liable for the software. No developer or consultant will sign liability for Open source code that is freely editable by the customer or whoever they subsequently hire and end users are understandably concerned about signing it themselves. In the organization that originally paid for the processor the agreement spent months in the legal department. I don't know if it was ever signed or if the code ever went into production.

Having said all that the people at Chase are keen to help - in fact you can't just get a Chase developer account - you fill in a convoluted form & a person is assigned to you!

Make today the day you step up to support CiviCRM and all the amazing organisations that are using it to improve our world - http://civicrm.org/contribute
