CiviCRM installs fine, but all Configuration Checklist gives 404 error
June 21, 2011, 07:13:23 am
I'm setting up a Drupal 7 test site, to check how well all of the modules etc work, before I upgrade my live sites.

I'm running Drupal 7.2 & CiviCRM 4.0.3

I ran the install script & everything went fine initially. Then it directs me to the configuration checklist at mywebsitename/drupal/index.php?q=civicrm/admin/configtask&reset=1

This gives a 404 page not found error. Even if I type in the clean URL version, any pages in drupal/civicrm give a 404. The CIviCRM plugin shows up as having been enabled, but there are no menu options etc showing up for it in the admin pages of Drupal.

It is essentially a clean install - no pages set up on the site yet - all other plugins are working fine & the site isn't logging any errors except for the 404 when I go to those pages.

Any suggestions for what is going wrong would be welcomed.

Same thing for mywebsitename/drupal/index.php?q=civicrm ?

You see a Drupal "page not found" (i.e. with your site's styles) or a Apache 404 page (with no style nor color)?

Can you check your sites/default/civicrm.settings.php file manually and make sure it has mywebsitename/drupal and not just mywebsitename ?

Thanks for these suggestions.

If I go to mywebsitename/drupal/index.php?q=civicrm I get exactly the same error.

Lines 121 & 122 of my config file list the details of the subdirectory

Line 149 lists the base url, also including the details of the sub-directory.

So it all looks as though the configuration has recognised the location etc correctly.

I tried uninstalling it & reinstalling & it still came up with the same error.

Its a Drupal not found page.

Having played about now with disabling different modules, it seems to be kind of working now (with the same modules on & off) - but the views module spits out errors. I disabled views and it appears to work fine.

If Views is enabled, it now gives the error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ')' in /home/public_html/drupal/sites/all/modules/civicrm/drupal/modules/views/civicrm.views.inc on line 5928

Strangely though, I didn't get the error until disabling & re-enabling views.

I'm running views 7.x-3.0-rc1

I've tried downloading the latest development of views & still get the error.

Finally, I came across this thread - applying the fixes listed seems to solve the error, although I haven't actually tried using CiviCRM yet.

Yes, there is a bug in 4.0.3 with Views. Glad to hear that your initial problem is now solved.
