I am in the process of converting a client from Blackbaud's Kintera to CiviCRM and I have to be able to import multiple event registrations to the same event.  The client is a membership association where often, a single person may purchase multiple tickets (at different times, sometimes the same day) for the same event.  Kintera supported this so I have 100 events to convert where this is an issue.

I also have a current client that sells tickets to Broadway shows where they also want this to happen and find it very annoying that they cannot.  I read a little here http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,18117.msg75139.html#msg75139

This is a huge issue for me because I have 8 years of event transactions to convert and I cannot stop and manually key all of the transactions that the system thinks are dupes when they are not.

Can I load the records directly into the civicrm_participant table and bypass the import process?  If so, are there any tables and/or keys I need to also populate in the process?
