Switching between $0 cost price options after registration?
June 27, 2011, 04:57:35 am
I would like to be able to change selections within a price field after registration if all the options are $0 cost.

We are running an event which has 4 sessions where there are concurrent presentations.

Some of the presentations are worth a certain number of continuing education/recertification points and others aren't.  There are also different types of points (L points and E points).  So which particular presentations someone attends is important. We need to be able to provide them with a certificate with the correct number and type of points after the conference.

When someone registers, as well as paying for the event, they must choose the presentations they will attend during each session.  As some presentations are limited to just 12 participants the sessions have been set up as price fields so that I can make use of the maximum participant feature for price options. All these options have $0 cost as the registration fee (with member/non-member options) is a different price field.

This is great until someone wants to change the sessions they have chosen.  We have to cancel their registration and re-register them, re-entering the custom data and fudging the payment side of things.

I thought about exporting their fee level, changing the options in the csv file and re-importing the changes, but then the count for the maximum participant feature seems to be wrong.

People often want to change their selections.
