We have just released the following whitepaper which takes an in-depth look at open source CRM and reviews the business benefits to organisations.
No mention of CiviCRM though!  :'(

They say there are two options for OS CRM (co-incidentally, they offer both those options).

Centric CRM and Sugar are the alternatives they offer. The contact form which emails you their report goes thru Sugar.

This report is pretty much thin advertorial, IMO. They don't consider vTiger either. I don't think there's any danger of them including any of the other alternatives, unless they decide to offer them as services.

I hadn't heard of Centric until now. Any user reports?

We're loving CiviCRM for our political project, and I've been considering trying vTiger for my business also - feels like it might give me a better understanding of practical CRM use ...
