help with configuring payment processor for back office membership renewal
June 27, 2011, 07:49:53 am
We have a couple of members who need to renew their membership offline.  When I select their membership tab, there is an option to add a new membership or click a link to Submit Credit Card Membership to process a Memberhip on behalf of the member using their credit card.    When I click the link to submit the credit card for the member, I get a "Sorry: A non-recoverable error has occurred  Could not find valid payment processor for this page."

Where do I configure payment processors for back -office submission?    (I have searched but so far I have not come up with anything)  We use payflow link for all online payments, and that has been working (except for sometime timing out, why some users have asked us to process the payament).

Thanks!
Merlise

You will need a credit card processor like paypal pro or authorize.net (where the card number is collected on your site) to be able to utilize the "Submit Credi...." link. Ideally we should not even show that link if you do not have a processor that can be used

As a feature request :-) would it be possible to use the same payment processor that is used for online paymentson the contribution page, such as payflow link, with the data being sent back?  seems like it is the same process as  with online renewal accept that the office staff enters the info rather than the individual....

best,
Merlise

I still had the "Dummy Payment processor" enabled on the site (for some other testing purposes) once that was disabled the link to  "submit Credit  Card" does not appear.

does payflow link required a login/password (like paypal std used to and google checkout requires)

We definitely cannot do it for sites that require login/password (since users can give CC numbers, but sharing login/pass for sites is just  a bad idea IMO) But if u can enter a credit card etc at a 3rd party site and then get redirected back it might be possible. I suspect this will be a 30-50 hour project (might be on the lower end since we have all the pieces and does not look like any DB changes needed)

A cheaper short term option might be to get a paypal pro account and use that for your current needs

No passwords are required from the member;   the cc info is entered and then the transaction info is redirected to civicrm.  I think Eileen contributed the payflowlink processor for civicrm that we are using.

Early on we did not want to handle cc info directly on site, but now that our server is separated from the rest of the university we may revisit that.

Thanks
