Date Field in Custom Data Set Updated to "0" after Save of Contact ...
June 29, 2011, 01:58:12 am
Hi Guys

I have just found a strange bug/occurrence/anomie in CiviCRM 3.4.1

For the contacts in the database there are lots of different custom data sets.

If editing say the address group the data fields in another group, if not expanded when edited are set to '0' and therefore are displaying 1970

Date field in custom data set updated to "0" after save of contact edit form when the custom data set's expandable area in not expanded.

Any help on this or directions to a previous fix would be hugely appreciated

Thanks

Tom

Hello again,

I have been doing some more testing with this and it seems that even if the tabs are expanded, if I do not edit the date field following a load of the edit page then the dates are set to 0.

This is very strange as I can edit a contact, set the dates as required and it saves OK.

If I then go to re edit the contact the dates are loaded up correctly but if I save without changing those same dates they are then lost ????

Has anyone else had any problems similar to this ????

I did but it turned out that we had a customisation (a hook was prefilling the date field to today's date) & in 3.4.x the format required for a hook to do that changed - don't suppose you have customisations?

Hi Eileen

What do you mean by a customisation ? custom modules that hook in to Civi or actually custom modifications in the Civi module it's self

I am actually running both although I try to run all my problems through here before resorting to hacking the core module

If you were experiencing this issue with a hook, could you please give me the name of the hook and the context in which it was used.

All our custom code was developed for previous versions of Civi and having recently updated to the most up to date I am now having more issues

The hook I was using was a buildForm hook - per this thread
