Importing (updates) into a custom data radio field part of the contact record
June 29, 2011, 12:50:21 pm
I have a CSV file, that contains a unique id and a contact email address and other data to import into several custom radio fields (Yes or No).  When I map the CSV-email address to the contact email address and the CSV-unqiue id  to the unique ID in the contact record and proceed with the import as an update, Civicrm adds a new record instead of performing an update.

When I perform a manual search on email address and unique id;  a matching record comes up, hence I am assuming CiviCRM can find a matching record to update.

Is there an issue importing into custom radio fields?

Help...

hi spaceaze,
two things i can think of:

1. are you sure you are selecting the update option on screen 1 of the import process?
2. did you set the dedupe strict rule for individuals?

the second option is probably more likely.

hope this helps,
cynthia
