Max Participants Issues

I've been testing CiviEvent for use managing our class calendar and registrations, and I've run into two issues surrounding the "Maximum Number of Participants" option.

First, I have posted the events to the Drupal Calendar using iCal.  When the participant limit has been hit, registered users are immediately shown the "Message if Event is Full", which is great.  However, anonymous users are still shown the sign-up options.  My guess is that this is a Drupal caching issue because of the anonymous nature of the problem, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Second, this delay in page updating seems to allow folks to register even when there is not space to do so because the registration screen .  Is the logic for preventing overbooking purely client-side?

Are these known issues, are there workarounds?  Or am I just running into something weird?  (CiviCRM 1.9.12432)

Thanks,
Brian

1. You might want to disable drupal cache for all civicrm pages. Search on drupal cache on the forums to figure out how to do this. This will be part of the 2.0 code base

2. The second part is also fixed in 2.0.

You might want to test both theses features out on our 2.0 sandbox (http://sandbox.civicrm.org/)

I've spent some time in the sandbox and some of the new features look very nice.  I'll move ahead with 1.9 for now with an intention to upgrade down the road.

As a by-the-way for future searchers, the Drupal cache instructions are in the documentation here:
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Install+CiviCRM+1.9+for+Drupal
No need for forum crawling ... yay!   :D
