This message is mostly directed toward lobo, but we would like to hear feedback from the community as well.
We are in need of a shopping cart for our clients using CiviCRM.  In the course of our research, we've looked at, tried and/or implemented the following with varying levels of success:

osCommerce, Zen Cart, e-Commerce 4, e-Commerce 3 and now looking into Ubercart.

Ubercart seems to have the momentum and community backing but lacks integration with CiviCRM.  According to the message boards, many people are voicing their desire for it.  e-Commerce x seems to be DOA with no active development.

What are people using to implement a shopping cart within CiviCRM?  Is there any active development on an Ubercart-CiviCRM module?  If so, how can we help?

Sorry, dont have a lot of experience with any of the shopping carts :( to comment one way or the other :). In the past we have worked quite closely with Gordon Heydon when he managed e-commerce, so that helped the integration a lot. We'd be happy to do similar things with Ubercart and help integration. We dont have the skills/energy/resources to drive this integration though :)

I'm all for ubercart integration in CiviCRM.  Maybe there should be an interface to bring your own shopping cart (CiviStore?) or even bring your own payment processors in CiviContribute.  Could CiviNode And Civinode CCK (http://drupal.org/project/civinode) play a role?
