Groups not showing in Summary Overlay

In Civi 4.0.4 if group permission is set to 'User and User Admin' then the groups a contact is in do not show up in the summary overlay, even if I have permission to view those groups.
I think this is the same as this issue http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-8362 that was with Civi 3.3.6 but just seems to be occurring in 4.0 as well.
I have also tested this on the demo database: I added contacts to a group, made the group 'User and User admin'. Then I hovered over the contact to get a summary overlay and I could not see that they were in the group I had just created and had permission to view.

3.3.x changes are not yet part of 3.4.0/4.0.x release. For now you can get the fix from https://fisheye2.atlassian.com/changelog/CiviCRM?cs=35003
