Unable to delete events in civicrm 3.4.3 and JOOMLA 1.5.23

I want to delete some events. I keep receiving the message "they are still linked people to this event". Even when I delete all my contacts, this message is still firing.
Do you have any clue to delete my events ?

When you delete contacts they are moved to trash. Did you permanently delete your contacts? Using advanced search you can search for contacts in trash and then delete them permanently.
