Developping a component for the joomla version
July 05, 2011, 04:02:05 pm
Hi,
i'm just starting to use civicrm;
I used joomla for a while now, and i recently decided to learn how to develop extensions for joomla.

From what i've read so far, i have the feeling that all version of civicrm are 'drupal codebase orientated' and some of the functionalities (or maybe additional functionalities) only work with drupal.

Is it possible to extend civicrm creating a joomla codebase component (i mean a CIVIcomponent).

has anybody already developped a specific civicrm component for joomla?

Where can i find documentation (or maybe a detailled sample component) on building a joomla codebase civicomponent.

thanks,

xavier

Hi,

Hooks and API work both for joomla & drupal.

Read this chapter in our book, should get you started:
