Situation: An expired member renews WAY after their initial membership has expired OR just adds a new membership. As a result, their contact record has both a current and an expired membership record.

I need to pull a monthly list of all members, all statuses, for a newsletter mailing. Because of the duplicate membership records, some members are getting two newsletters. I can't seem to find a way to automatically find and/or exclude the EXPIRED membership records of those contacts that also have CURRENT memberships.

I did try a custom search, knowing that CID 250 meets the criteria.  However if I search for memberships with status = 1 AND memberships with status = 4, I get 'no results found'.

What am I not seeing / missing / doing wrong?
