From on-line membership to the database
July 10, 2011, 09:23:34 pm
Hi,

Here's my question.
When a member subscribe to my website, he fills out a form. But then, in order to have that information in my DB, I need to manually re-enter all this information. Isn't there a way it can be automated?

And while we are there, couldn't I get an automatic e-mail sent to the new member with his login name and his password, automatically generated?

Right now, I have to do this all by hand and it is taken forever. Anybody can help?

It sounds like you haven't grasped the basic idea of your CMS and CiviCRM. Let us know what CRM (Drupal or Joomla) and what versions and we can direct you to the documentation for these questions.

Hi,
I'm using Drupal, but I'm not sure what version. I just took over the website now in order to help a friend.
Can you help me even without the version?

Start with "Understanding Drupal": http://drupal.org/getting-started

and "CiviCRM Documentation": http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/CiviCRM+Documentation

and the CiviCRM Book: http://flossmanuals.net/CiviCRM/
