Joomla Calendar Needed
July 11, 2011, 11:39:43 am
We are in desperate need for a Calendar to display Civi Event instead of just a listing.  Is there a plugin for this?  We found an abandoned project on the forum, but that does not help.  We have 5 clients wanting this yesterday.  Thanks for any info.

Since you have already have 5 clients who really need this, might consider funding a developer to either:

1. look and potentially upgrade the abandoned project to be more current

2. build something from the ground up that works with the latest releases of civi and joomla

Hi,

I'm looking into using the Joomla component JEvents and then setting up calendars that autosync with the ical url feed from civicrm, you can use a cron job to update new events into JEvent on a daily basis or similar.

This gives a good calendar module in Joomla and no need to manually sync the events.

Not sure if that is what you want but let me know if it is.

Cheers,

Dave

Dave, I would be interested in more info on this.  Sounds like the easiest route.

We would be willing to do this if more people would contribute.  It seems like something the core programmers would want to include in the next version.
