Non-recoverable error.
January 22, 2008, 06:54:53 pm
Hi, busy installing civicrm and got to this stage. Error message "Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred."

Database Error Code: Table 'db33465_test.civicrm_domain' doesn't exist, 1146

Error Details: [db_error: message="DB Error: no such table" code=-18 mode=callback callback=CRM_Core_Error::handle prefix="" info="SELECT config_backend FROM civicrm_domain WHERE ( civicrm_domain.id = 1 ) [nativecode=1146 ** Table 'db33465_test.civicrm_domain' doesn't exist]"]

What do I do next?  ???

It sounds like the schema (database tables) where not created in your DB. You'll need to post more details:

* which version of CiviCRM are you trying to install?
* are you using Drupal or Joomla?
* if Drupal, did you try to use the automated installer? http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Automated+Installer+for+Drupal
* did you get any error messages during your installation attempt(s)?
* what versions of PHP and MySQL are running on your server / host?

Hi Dave:

Okay, here go more details to contextualise the error message:

- CiviCRM 1.9
- Drupal 5.9
- I used both the automatic install and the manual installation. During this process, I got stuck at a point where I was asked to resolve civicrm root settings. See the attached file for the message I was receiving. This problem seems to be resolved.
- PHP 5, MySQL 4.1.11

Hope this helps. :-\

Based on these errors, it looks like civicrm_root is still not set properly in your civicrm.settings.php file - which should have been written to your ..sites/default directory. Please take a look at that file - and verify value relative to the install doc and other posts on this forum regarding civicrm_root.

Hi Dave:

The installation is now running smoothly. Thanks for your assistance.
