3.3.5 -> 3.4.4 link urls have id added to domain
July 13, 2011, 09:04:58 pm
After upgrade links on admin pages have added the id to the domain. Making craziness.

For example, on the 'From Email Address Options' page
https://templ.xxx/civicrm/admin/options/from_email

The 'edit' link points to:
https://templ.299x/civicrm/admin/options/from_email_address?group=from_email_address&action=update&id=299&reset=1

Well templ.299x is a nice mashup of the id and the domain.

Seems to be happening on every admin page that offers a link to edit, delete, etc.

And I know what you're thinking. You're thinking:"What, he's running a porn site with CiviCRM? How dare he!" But no, I have some test sites for my templates (templ, get it?) and they end with .xxx, .yyy, .zzz. Sort of an end of the alphabet thing.

Joking aside, any ideas why the URL is getting mangled?

Thanks,
GF

OK, this error has nothing to do with the upgrade.

I moved the site before the upgrade. So I tried moving it again without the upgrade, and it was messing up the URLs. So obviously the upgrade has nothing to do with it.

This has never happened before when moving a site.

Any ideas?

GF

Wow,

I'm getting that feeling. Like there are scary gerbils in the matrix, gnawing at my CiviCRM codebase. If you put on your 3D glasses, you can see the faint outline of Mr. Smith in a cute/fuzzy rodent suit squeaking round-n-round on the exercise wheel muttering things about proper and improper choices for a TLD, even if the only way you can get to the site is by modifying your host file.

Hey, I tried moving the site again. Not to the highly questionable choice of templ.xxx but to templ.yyy (one down the alphabet) and sure enough. All is right with the world. On templ.yyy, no funky messing up of the URL.

Strange.

GF

PS

I'm down with leaving this minor problem right where it is. If someone is running a porn site, they can jolly well pay for their CRM.
