Shorter CiviCRM path?
July 17, 2011, 06:13:14 am
I just successfully installed drupal 7.4 and civicrm 4.0.4 on an uptodate gentoo box (I installed from the source tarball, not the gentoo package).

In order to get to civicrm, I have to navigate to the drupal URL, login, then click on the link in the left navigation sidebar. Going directly to the civicrm URL when logged out just sends me to the drupal front page for login.

Just seems to me to be an unnecessary step here. I'd like to go to a page, log in and then find myself in civicrm. Any way to configure drupal/civicrm to do this?

Going directly to the civicrm URL when logged out can show you a page with a login box on the side, which if you use, will take you back to the CiviCRM home page. Does your theme have this login on the side?

Thanks for your response!

It doesn't work that way for me. When logged out, and I go to the URL .../drupal/civicrm I get an "Access denied" error.

When logged out, and I go to the URL (danged forum software won't let me put a sample link; sigh) .../drupal then I get a log in box on the left side. After logging in I'm at the *drupal* front page, with the civicrm link on the left. I'd like to cut out this step, if I can.

When logged out, and you go to the URL .../drupal/civicrm and you get an "Access denied" error, is there a login box on the left side?

If NOT, then adjust your Blocks ( http://drupal.org/documentation/blocks ) to put one there.

Indeed there is a login box there! And that did the trick.

Thanks!
