Membership Export only has one row for each contact

Export Members only exports one row per contact - ie it does not export a row per Membership - so if a Contact has multiple memberships these do not get exported - is this expected?
Have verified on Demo - http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/contact/view?reset=1&force=1&cid=56&selectedChild=member
has 2 memberships but 'export' ends up only showing him once.

I noticed this as well and it's a problem for our site.  It's common for individuals to have more than one membership possibly of the same type.

My workaround is to use the "Membership Report (Detail)" and export to CSV from there since IIRC it exports all memberships.

I don't think that Export Members is useful as-is since the similar information can be obtained by doing an advanced search for contacts and filtering by contacts who are members.  That also gives one line per contact.

This has previously been reported for contributions and events exports.  The following is the response from Dave Greenberg:
