Blank fields in Offline Email Receipts
July 19, 2011, 01:59:19 pm
I'm pretty much a newbie with CiviCRM, but have been given the task of figuring out why our email receipts have blank fields for contribution type and total amount. The receipt is filling out the data for received date correctly.  Have tried our different contribution pages and all the receipts are printing this blank.  I believe that the part that is printing blank is from the standard template and when I look at that template I see the fields $formValues.contributionType_name and $formValues.total_amount, but I do not know how to debug and see if those variables are being passed data.  When I look at the MYSQL database, the two fields are filled out in the civicrm.contributions table.

Any help wou;d be sincerely appreciated because we are about to start a major fundraising campaign, and I need to get the receipts working correctly.

Thx
John

check to see if you have customized templates in "administer" > "civimail" > "message templates" > "system workflow"  You should see which ones are customized because they have a 'revert to default' link next to them.   Review these before you revert them, save your code, but the answer may lie there
