Hi everybody,

I'm trying to set my first smart group in Drupal CiviCrm, but I can't wonder why it's not working.

My aim is to create a simple generic "individual donors" smart group set on this simple criteria:
- contact type = individual
- contribution date = from 1/1/2010 to 31/12/2030 (or the farest possibile, just not to have to set a farer date in the future).

1. I made a serach with this two criteria and i got the entire list of the individual contacts who made a donation
2. I selected all of them and in batch mode I chose to "create a new smart group"
3. I got confirmation that the smart group was created based on the given criteria
4. when i tried to add a contribution to a contact, the automated adding to the "individual donors" smart group didn't work..!!

What's the matter in here?

hi,
i tried this on the demo site and it worked fine.

here's what i did:
advanced search for individuals AND contribution date from 01/01/2009 to 12/31/2030
this yielded 15 records
i made this a new smart group called "donors"
i added a new individual: first name=Contact1 last name=Test1
then i edited that record and added a contribution: contribution type =donation and receipt date= 07/20/2011
i saved the record and when i looked at the number in contacts in the donor's smart group the number was 16 and included the record i had just added

in your post you indicated that you used this for your criteria: - contribution date = from 1/1/2010 to 31/12/2030 (or the farest possibile, just not to have to set a farer date in the future).

was the "31/12/2030" just a typo? if not try using 12/31/2030 and see if that works. other than that i do not see anything that you did incorrectly.

I made all the above (that was pretty much the same I had already done!)
and this time everything is working fine.
