I've noticed that when I have an event for which I'm permitting a waitlist, and have set a registration expiry date, the message regarding waitlists being available if people still want to register is still displayed after the cutoff date in yellow, above the event info, along with the "registration is closed" message. Also, if I turn off online registration completely the waitlist message still displays. Seems to me the watlist message should go away if registration is no longer an option.

If I were to turn off the waitlist option, would I lose the 18 participants who are currently on it? I'd like to make sure that the option to move from the waitlist to the event is still available, if a current registrant cancels.
